Chapter 7 page 27
I can understand dislike for Alistair and his attitude and actions, but the question you should be coming up with is ‘Why is he like this?’
The key to eliminating distasteful behavior is understanding the root cause.

Yes, I must admit the question HAS crossed my mind. Along with “How the hell did Jacques get caught by the nun”. Though to that, I can guess that his fondness for the female body must’ve played a certain role he he he. Also, since he just essentially saved his two companions, it seems he doesn’t mind too much his captivity since if he’d been really angry at those two for using him, he probably wouldn’t have jumped in like that and pulled them out of harm’s way (well maybe the nun he would have he he he).
Of course, it could be that he has his own agenda, or that he’s motivated by something else altogether, but somehow he doesn’t strike me as the scheming type.
Anyway, on another topic, I decided to re-read the whole comic last weekend and was as such able to find out where Bernadette caught her shadow. I found this discovery to be very interesting since it threw my initial theory about its origin completely out the window. That thing however seems to just love when Bernadette feels just downright miserable… which is probably why it chose her as its “host” in the first place. In a way, it also acted as the whole trigger for this series of events which simply begs to question… what the hell is that thing!?
Anyway, keep up the good work

Whatwhatwhat? Hate for Alistair? Well, you’ll not find that with me. (Maybe it’s because I’m also a Christian–though not a Catholic. But I don’t find his behavior hateful, especially since you already pointed out that he was being particularly nice to Bernadette when he shot her. Oh, that sounded so wrong.|D)
Anywho, I’ve been lurking for quite a while. Came by here on recommendation from Amya, and I’ve been hooked ever since. (BTW, I’m the kid who commented on the presence of ampersands in The Tyger. I went and looked it up. OTL Sorry about that.)
Anywho, I’m glad I finally have time to comment here, even if it’s only going to be short. I have a lot of good things to say about this: I love the setting (I’m a sucker for good settings), the story, and the artwork. Whatever I say can’t do justice to this. It’s so well done, I can’t find flaws beyond the typo with Jacque’s little pun some pages ago (well, I got the pun, at least ^_^). Kudos to Ms. Gunter for the fabulous illustrations! I just love it when the art goes comical!
Anywho, I don’t know if this is a good or a bad thing, but the transition seemed too sudden. Personally, I don’t mind it. (Heck, if it involves Jacques, I care not what happens. He’s so quirky and playful and French. I think it’s adorable how he’s skipping like that in the second panel.?)
I’ll be keeping up with this one as much as I can. I hope Bernadette makes it out okay, same goes for the vampire-hunting trio. I just know that they have good reason for what they’re doing (except Jacques, who seems to be a cool but irredeemable villain to me). And besides, we have a badass, gun-toting Catholic priest with an eye-patch and a long-coat. THAT IS SO FREAKIN’ AWESOME!
Yes, uh, this is pretty much a short comment to me. ^_^;

For Alistair’s hatred of vampires and other ‘evil creatures’, I blame childhood trauma. Course, it is a pretty easy explanation.
Still liking the paladin-nun. The ’straight-woman’ of the group. :XD:
